The WBT project focused on three main areas:
Collecting data on water system service areas
Water systems and other qualified users could use the tool to input or edit water system service area boundaries. Registration and permissions were required to submit or edit data.
Making data available to the public
Tracking California made water system service area data accessible to the public in two ways:
- Map viewer - The interactive map viewer allowed users to explore water system boundaries.
- Data downloader - Now retired, the data downloader allowed users to download all or a subset of water system boundary files.
General Coordination
Tracking California conducted ongoing outreach, training, data collection, and user support related to the collection and use of water system service area boundary data.
